Senior: Ashlyn

First, a story.  You like stories, right?

Ashlyn came to one of our senior consultations, along with her mom.  Most of our seniors come to the consultation to get information about our process, how we work, and to learn what makes a great portrait.  We also show them around our studio so that they can get ideas for their senior portraits (or just rely on our creativity with them, of course).

Well, there was also another senior at this consultation; a young man, from a different school.  He was pretty animated, and we also discussed a couple of special images he wanted to create.  In all, we had great fun and everyone left looking forward to their senior portrait sessions.

What we DIDN’T know was that once Ashlyn left, she went looking to find out more about this young man (isn’t Facebook a great tool?), and was determined to find him.  And she did.  And now they are dating.  And I think it’s just another happy thing that happens in our studio.

Please note: We aren’t starting a dating service.  This was just fate at work, we think.  Or one very determine young lady. 🙂

It should be said that Ashlyn, who wears glasses, was not so sure about taking them off for photos.  She’s worn them and likes wearing them and prefers her face with glasses.  When we convinced her to take a few without glasses, she was very pleased with the results.

She’s also quite lovely with the glasses… beautiful smile.

Senior: Kortney

Originally, the focus was on her athleticism (quite the volleyball player; witnessed myself not long ago).  But once we really got right down to it, Kortney wanted something more reflective of her personality.

Senior: Kelsey

You ever see someone’s face and immediately think “wow!”  There are times when I’m so glad I spent so much time studying faces and lighting them.  Kelsey is a prime example of the best in classic facial structure.

Senior: Tiffini

Sometimes people just have an eye for style.

And a cute doggie. 🙂

Senior: Megan (another one)

What’s your high school hobby?  Xbox?  Skateboarding?  Model airplanes?

How about drag racing?

That’s what Megan does on the weekends.  She drag races at speeds up to 160 miles per hour, then waits her turn for the next round.  And she loves it.  When I asked her what she wants to do when she “grows up,” her immediate reply was “go to drag racing school.” “Why,” I asked?  “So I can go faster.”

Megan is also a big fan of Playboy.

And you know me and eyes… wow.

Senior: Alex

I didn’t know what to expect with Alex… but his father’s humor really got Alex to relax and enjoy himself.  We only did one outfit with Alex, but he was particularly proud of the cap & gown shot, so we’re using it for his blog post. 🙂

Senior: Samantha

Funny kid… really.  Her mom and sister and I laughed most of the day while taking Sam’s pictures.  It was a great time.

Senior: Bethany

We first met Bethany’s mom when Bethany was in 1st or 2nd grade and playing basketball at the Rec Center.  It was a pleasure to meet her again as a young woman.  Her charm and personality all come out in her lovely smile.

Senior: Dylan

One thing we love about meeting new people is learning their “story.”  Dylan was no exception, especially since he is working on mastering the elusive game of golf.  I’ve never been a golfer (unless you count the many times in my youth that I’ve “fed the hippo” at the putt-putt course on vacation), but this guy seems like the real deal.  Seriously.

Senior: Ashley

Ashley is the quiet type, but knew what she wanted.  Her selection of clothing made all the difference in her images, too.  Living on a farm, you can imagine that she wanted something more inspiring than a barn shot. 🙂
