Many years ago (I won’t say HOW many) all my portraiture was on-location. Most of the reason was I didn’t want to set up a studio, nor could I accommodate a large crowd in any of the studio settings I had created. Over the last 15 or so years, I’ve had a studio setting with which I can do most portraiture. And more recently, since moving to our Martinsburg studio, we can do thousands more things than ever before.
But I long for location work! The best reason is that I look at all our work and think “it’s not complete enough… there needs to be location work in there.” And so we set out to photograph some of our subjects on-location.
